Fur Care Guide
Preserve the beauty and longevity of your luxury pieces
General Care Tips
- Store your fur in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources
- Use a wide, padded hanger to maintain the garment's shape
- Allow adequate space in your closet for air circulation
- Never store fur in plastic bags - use breathable garment bags instead
- Avoid wearing perfume, hairspray, or makeup directly on your fur
- Shake out your fur gently after wearing to remove any moisture or debris
Cleaning & Maintenance
Professional Cleaning: We recommend professional fur cleaning once a year, preferably at the end of the season. Never attempt to wash or dry clean fur at home.
Spot Cleaning: For minor stains, gently blot (never rub) with a clean, dry cloth. Consult a professional furrier for stubborn stains.
Brushing: Use a specialized fur brush to gently smooth the fur in the direction of the hair growth. This helps maintain its natural luster.
Weather Protection
Light Rain or Snow: If your fur gets wet, shake it gently and hang it to air dry in a well-ventilated area. Never use heat to dry fur.
Heavy Rain: Avoid wearing fur in heavy rain or wet conditions when possible.
After Drying: Once completely dry, shake the garment again and smooth the fur with your hands or a fur brush.
Seasonal Storage
During warmer months, proper storage is essential to maintain your fur's quality:
- Store in a temperature-controlled environment (ideally 45-55°F with 50% humidity)
- Professional cold storage is recommended for valuable pieces
- Ensure the garment is clean before storage
- Use cedar chips or lavender sachets to deter moths (never mothballs)
- Check on stored furs periodically and air them out occasionally
Sheepskin & Shearling Care
For sheepskin and shearling items:
- Brush regularly with a suede brush to maintain texture
- Wipe leather surfaces with a slightly damp cloth
- Use specialized sheepskin cleaner for stains
- Avoid excessive heat and direct sunlight
- Professional cleaning is recommended annually
What to Avoid
- Never use regular hangers - they can damage the shoulders
- Don't pin jewelry or brooches directly onto fur
- Avoid sitting on fur for extended periods
- Don't apply heat (hairdryers, radiators, etc.) to wet fur
- Never iron or steam fur garments
- Don't store in plastic or airtight containers

For optimal care, we recommend annual professional services including:
- Professional cleaning and conditioning
- Glazing to restore natural luster
